The small lamp you see on the tables of a good hotel bar, free of its cord. A gold-finish cage holds a clear cylinder shade, and a touch on the top turns it on, changes the tone of the light and dims it. Carry it from the bedside to the desk to the dinner table; it goes wherever the evening does and needs no socket nearby.
